Litigation Partner - More Details
An ideal candidate will be legally qualified to practice in Alberta, with at least 7 years of litigation experience in intellectual property and/or a complementary practice area. This unique and lucrative opportunity is perfect for an individual who is entrepreneurial, has a portable practice and strong industry relationships, and has the aspiration to help grow and build Smart & Biggar’s vibrant Alberta litigation practice.
Patent Agent - More Details
An ideal candidate will be a Canadian and/or United States lawyer and patent agent with 3+ years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution working with clients primarily in electronics/computer related technologies, and preferably also experience with clients in the energy industry. He/she will have a technical background in electrical or computer engineering, computer science and/or physics. Experience with patent litigation and/or patent and technology licensing would be an asset. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills are essential.
Junior Patent Agent / Technical Consultant - More Details
An ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in chemistry and/or chemical engineering with expertise in energy related subject matter including oil and gas related technologies. The ideal candidate will preferably be a qualified Canadian and/or United States patent agent with 1+ years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution and preferably also experience with clients in the energy industry. Being qualified as a lawyer in Canada and/or the United States would be desirable, as would some experience with patent litigation and/or patent and technology licensing. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills are essential.
