Brought to you by the International Trademark Issues Committee

A new European Trade Mark Directive was adopted which will implement a number of reforms to national laws in the European Union and the Community Trademark System. Changes are to come into force on March 23, 2016, and one change in particular introduces a limited time period for trademark owners to take steps to confirm protection for certain goods and services.

Through the EU reform, trademark owners will have until September 23, 2016 within which to file a declaration designating specific goods and services in registrations. Our speakers will discuss this fast approaching deadline, as well as other important changes to be implemented through the EU reform.
