Submission for the study on Canada’s manufacturing sector
Published on October 6, 2016
The House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology is conducting a study on Canada’s manufacturing sector. In its submission, IPIC recommends the establishment of a “first patent” program, as well as an “innovation box” tax incentive. IPIC also asks the government and Parliament to continue to devote sufficient resources and time to ensure that the Patent Act and the Trade-marks Act remain current and competitive. Finally, we recommend the modernization of the regulatory framework for the innovation professionals who serve Canadian manufacturers.
